July 2016 Update
In a good place for planning the next annual fundraiser. Time, date and place are secured. Dal Bouey will once again be our entertainment. Kurt Colone will be our emcee for the evening.
Working on writing press release for the media to drum up advertising. Luxe Linen and many vendors will return. New companies have either volunteered or solicited to be a part of the night. Looking into color schemes for the evening.

Naranja Nights 2017
Excited to announce our 4th annual fundraiser benefitting the Michigan chapter of the National MS Society. The event date is Saturday, March 11, 2017. We will return to the Suburban Showplace in Novi, MI. Dal Bouey will return bringing an outstanding show. Kurt Colone from Mike Staff Productions will serve as our Emcee. Colone has been a great supporter of Naranja Nights since the first time.
Colleen and Crystal, owners of Luxe Event Linen offered once again to provide linen and specialty chairs for the night. Several other event providers have offered to contribute to the production.
Looking forward to the continuation of the silent auction program and our "Play and Stay " hotel link at a discount. Rooms go quick in our block and the hotel will sell due to the large golf show happening at the same time. Visit www.naranjanights.org for additional information.

Dal Bouey
Dal Bouey has been our featured artist two years in a row. We first met Dal when she was performing at Fishbones on Northwestern in Southfield. She was amazing. We all connected. The next time we saw her was at one of the casinos in Detroit. Christopher and I were there with our wedding planner. We were considering her for our wedding. At a few songs our planner turned to us and said"if I were you I would give a deposit tonight!"
From that point we would choose Dal Bouey Productions for corporate events and suggest her to wedding clients. Now she and her dsdicate and donate a large portion to perform for Naranja Nights.

the birth of the theme
The creation of the name, Naranja Nights, came to Joseph Martinez the second year for our annual fundraiser. The word naranja means orange in Spanish. The color orange is the ribbon color associated with MS. Joseph is Mexican so it all seemed to work together.
Speaking of working together. One of the benefits of teaching at Schoolcraft College we were able to ask and recruit student volunteers to help us in decorating for the fundraiser. From those volunteers we created a volunteer committee that dedicate time, energy and skills to the different components of planning. Many of the volunteers are still participating on the committee. Very pleased that they have found an area they are comfortable in focusing on in the development of the event.

This was the creation of our annual fundraiser for MS benefitting The Michigan Chapter of the National MS Society. We took what we knew and built an event focused on tackling something that is battling us.
Searching for a venue offering us as much as possible within our established budget. The Diamond Center inside the Suburban Showplace in Novi gave the most for the money and offered the opportunity for a "Play and Stay" attached hotel option. Turning to our Preferred Vendors Rolodex we began searching for event industry professionals that would join in our fight against MS with donations and/or discounts to produce our event. Welcoming our friends Colleen and Crystal, owners of Luxe Event Linen offering linens and specialty chairs to our event. Kurt Colone would be our emcee and Kevin, one of his colleagues with Mike Staff Productions would be our DJ for the evening. Elana Sullivan, President of the Michigan chapter of the National MS Society, would be our keynote speaker.
